I perform my own point of care kidney and bladder ultrasounds on the initial visit and as needed. A kidney ultrasound is part of the evaluation for anyone with CKD. It provides so much information, such as the size of the kidneys, kidney stones, cysts, obstruction, and tumors. I really enjoy doing them, it provides me with immediate and extremely useful information.
